No surprise to anyone, Disney announced plans to develop a sequel to the hulk smash hit the Avengers. The Avengers grossed $207 million in its opening weekend ($702 million to date) and quickly broke all previous box office records.
Disney CEO Bob Iger also mentioned that the Avengers will be making an appearance at Disney theme parks soon. Does this mean an Avengers Land next to Fantasy Land? Only time will tell, but this popular franchise could carry a park of it’s own.
Disney’s game division, Disney Interactive Media Group, is already feverishly working on game development for the franchise.
With sequels upcoming for Ironman, Thor, Captain America and rumblings of spinoff Hulk movie, the Avengers aren’t going anywhere for a while.
