Have you ever been searching online for pictures that might pique your interest? I often find myself looking for new photographs for my home or even just for the background on my computer or phone. Luckily, when I was searching around online, I came across the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards. This is a collection of both professional and amateur pictures that have been taken around the world. They have compiled a shortlist for 2015, and these pictures are absolutely amazing. This list contains only 24 pictures, but to give you an idea of how big this competition is, there have been 173,444 images received so far from 171 countries. That is an increase of 24% from 2014. The competition ended on April 23rd, 2015. There is a total of $30,000 being given away in cash prizes, plus the bragging rights that your photo was chosen. If you aren’t sure what category to participate in, there are a few. You can choose from 13 professional categories, 10 open (amateur) categories, or 3 youth categories that are designed for that up and coming photographer! Now let’s see which of these photos tugs at your heart-strings.
