If you’re a car lover like me, we probably run into the same problems. We constantly battle with the struggle of wanting to possess incredible pieces of driving machinery with a bank account that cannot support the passion. Well there are far more people with a passion for these high end cars than the amount of people that can actually afford them. That’s part of the drive to owning one though, in my opinion. Because of the insane price tags on these supercars, enthusiasts have started to take things into their own hands to create some of the most incredible knock-offs I’ve ever seen. Like the Lamborghini made from a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Or the one of a kind sports car molded from foam. These cars are created on a budget but you’d never know by just looking at the final result. Below is one of the most sought after cars of all time. A McLaren F1. The difference is that this one cost roughly $30,000 rather than $7,000,000. Take a look at this amazing DIY McLaren.
Jacek Mazur is a health and safety advisor who lives in Poland and has a huge passion for fine automobiles.
He spent a total of 8 years collecting parts and fabricating one of the most difficult builds of his life.
Almost all of the components on this incredibly rare supercar are custom made. The power plant is a mix of parts from various high end Mercedes and Audi’s.
The frame work had to be incredibly precise and durable. This hand made supercar is capable of going over 200 mph!
To achieve speeds that fast a huge power plant was needed and a very lightweight frame. There was no room for error with this build.
He’s an amateur mechanic who definitely cannot afford the taste he has acquired over the years. He knew he had to take matters into his own hands to own what he truly wanted.
This isn’t the first build he’s done to replicate a supercar. He’s hand built a few Lamborghinis before but, this McLaren would be the ultimate test of his talents.
Take a look at that push rod suspension! You only find that on the best cars in the world.
If you’ve never seen the inside of a McLaren before you might notice something strange. The steering wheel is right in the center of the cockpit allowing for two passengers and a driver.
Coming across a McLaren body is no easy task nor is it a cheap find. So he had no other choice than to fabricate his own custom shell.
The interior structure and body molds all had to be hand made and tediously refined for perfection.
This father of two recruited over 30 friends and family members to help him with this incredible build.
He spent countless hours on the internet coming up with the measurements and closely examining photographs just so he could match each and every detail perfectly.
This streamlined race car had to be built to last and most importantly it had to be safe. After all, this McLaren replica has a 0-60 time of 6 seconds!
