Lately it seems as though people all over the world are utilizing their small spaces, and coming up with new ideas to help with pollution and downsize their lives. People are focusing on using materials from natural lands and creating undeniably beautiful homes. We have seen people turn storage units into a living space, create a fantasy house with the start of a rock, and downsizing to under 400 square feet of living space. This new found passion is taking over the world, and not one of these people, so far, has regretted their decision. The next couple I would like to showcase is one that has created an incredible, one of a kind, home for them. The kicker is that their entire home is floating on water off the border of Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
For 19 years, Wayne Adams and Catherine King have built what is now known as Freedom Cove. As you can see, Freedom Cove is the location of their beautiful floating home.
The floating home consists of 12 different platforms.
They have a dance studio, an art gallery, and 5 greenhouses.
They also have 5 acres of land that they use solely for their crops.
The water they use to water their crops comes from rainwater and a nearby waterfall.
The floating home keeps them busy all summer long as tourists take boat tours to see their unique lifestyle.
The food they eat is solely from their crops that they grow all year long.
Wayne, who is 66, is a sculpture. He makes beautiful pieces of art which he then sells for their livelihood.
The beautiful floating home is powered by 12 different solar panels too.
Catherine, who is 59, is an avid dancer.
Together this incredible couple has made a beautiful floating home that is practically self sufficient. They do this by growing their own crops, using nature for their water, and having the home function on solar power. They are proud of the 19 hard years of work that went into creating this one of a kind home. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, enjoying the beauty that surrounds them, would you be able to live like this?
